WASHINGTON – On Thursday morning, August 25, The Catholic University of America re-launched CUAcardinals.com, completely overhauling the official athletic website of Cardinals Athletics.
The new site was designed to engage users while providing ease of use as the department continues to promote both its student-athletes, coaches, staff and all of Catholic University.
The overall design of the site has been completely remodeled, with an emphasis on visual stimulation. The main photo has been made larger which allows for even more dynamic photos. Fans will also note that the side panels are distinctly Washington, D.C., and Catholic University with scenes from the campus and national landmarks.
The top of the page now includes a moving scroll bar that travels with the page so fans can access anything that CUAcardinals.com has to offer wherever they are when viewing the site. It offers drop-down menus with direct links to team pages, rosters, stats, schedules and more!
The schedule, results and standings section is completely functional, allowing fans to go back and forth through all results and upcoming events, search by sport and access a full calendar of events. The standings button also pulls the current Landmark Conference Standings table; sortable for each sport.
Social media has become an integral part of all athletics and now featured prominently on each page. Twitter, Facebook and Instagram widgets are now all accessible, along with a direct link to all of Catholic's live broadcasts on the Landmark Digital Network. Fans will also see the sport-specific accounts on each team page and have access to every account from sport drop-down menu.
Additionally, a video player at the bottom of the page shows the top features such as the brand new "This Is Catholic University Athletics" video, Hall of Fame Induction, Landmark Championships and coach and player interviews.
On the story pages, fans are now treated to "expanded scrolling" which allows access to every release from the current year on each sport as well as general topics.
Also, CUAcardinals.com will now constrain proportions to fit whatever device you are viewing the site on, removing the need for "mobile" and "desktop" versions.
