WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Monday, the Catholic University athletics department announced the branding of the Cardinal Sports Network which is responsible for proving live video of all athletic home events as well as highlights, coach and student-athlete features and other content for social media.
"In regards to our video broadcasts, the department has taken a big step forward this year with the addition of Production Truck by Blue Frame Technology," said Assistant Athletics Director for Communications Jason Eichelberger. "Thanks to an agreement with the Landmark Conference, Production Truck has allowed us to offer viewers more with score overlays, starting lineup and statistical graphics as well as instant replays."
As a result, the athletic communications staff felt the need to brand and bring awareness to its improved video and online content as the official provider of digital content for the athletics department.
"Based largely on the efforts of assistant director of athletic communications Allison Baney and the assistance of graduate assistant Jimmy Cassidy, our product has grown immensely since we started back in August," said Eichelberger. "Allison has spearheaded our use of on screen graphics and the use of instant replay while Jimmy provided play-by-play for our final two home football games. In addition, the Cardinal Sports Network logos were designed by student assistant and women's lacrosse junior Holly Regan."
After learning and testing the capabilities of Production Truck this fall, the staff is proud to announce that it will continue its growth into basketball season with the addition of Washington, D.C., native and veteran broacaster Frank Hanrahan who handle the play-by-play duties for men's basketball home games and NBC Sports Washington Correspondent Bob Trosset who will handle the play-by-play for women's basketball home games.
