Cardinals host Landmark Conference Tournament this weekend

WASHINGTON – After compiling a 25-15 overall record and 11-7 in the Landmark Conference this season, the No. 1 seeded Cardinals will host the 2013 Landmark Conference Tournament this weekend. CUA opens play on Saturday when they take on fourth-seeded Scranton.

CUA was last in action on April 28 when the Cardinals lost to Scranton 10-5 in Pennsylvania. The Cardinals are lead by Nick Clary, who is batting .348 with 49 hits, five doubles, four homeruns, and 36 runs scored. On the mound for CUA, Kevin Farley has pitched 48 innings with a 3.00 ERA and 29 strikeouts.

The Cardinals’ first round opponent, Scranton, enters the tournament with a record of 21-18, including 10-8 in the conference.  The Royals swept CUA in a three-game series this season.
