The Catholic University of America Head Baseball Coach Ross Natoli and his coaching staff will host a one-day Summer Prospect Camp on Tuesday, June 30th and a second, two-day Summer Prospect Camp on August 29th-30th (Saturday and Sunday). These prospect camps will be held on campus at the Robert J. Talbot Baseball Field and the DuFour Athletic Center and are designed for advanced high school student-athletes in grades 9-12 who are striving to reach their full potential with aspirations to compete at the collegiate level.
Whether you are looking to train with a top level Division III coaching staff or showcase your skills with the hopes of bringing your game to the next level, these camps may be of interest to you. We offer prospective student-athletes an opportunity to display their skills, to train with, and be evaluated by our current coaching staff, and really get to know the CUA coaching staff and current student-athletes.
Our camp goals are to provide a forum for prospective student-athletes to display their athletic talents to the CUA coaching staff, while the staff provides instruction to improve each student-athlete's fundamental skills. Each camp will focus on the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, individual and team defensive position play, base running, and strength and agility training. These skills will be evaluated through position-specific workouts and live-game competition.
Along with skill evaluation and player development, participants will engage in sessions covering the academic requirements and expectations for the CUA baseball program, the college recruiting and admissions process, and balancing college academics and baseball. A campus tour for the participating student-athletes and their parents will be included.
All participating student-athletes will have the opportunity to meet, learn and be evaluated by the current CUA baseball coaching staff, including Head Coach Ross Natoli, who is entering his 31st season, Associate Head Coach Bobby Picardo, Pitching Coach Tyler McCarthy, and Assistant Coaches Tim Mierzwa and Chris Nee. In addition, all participants will have a chance to interact with our current players and get the full student-athlete experience of playing high level D3 baseball at Catholic University.
