WASHINGTON - No. 16 The Catholic University of America baseball team dropped game one of its three-game series with Susquehanna University, 11-0, on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals registered six hits in Landmark Conference matchup while the River Hawks recorded 11.
Senior Jack Hennessy cracked a double to left field in the fifth inning. His classmates Brennan Cotter and Danny O'Hagan each recorded a hit while juniors Bailey Lewis and Ryan Tracy along with sophomore Connor Cozad each registered one of their own.
The River Hawks notched one run in the second inning and ran away with the game when they scored with eight in the fourth. They tacked on another run in the fifth and one more in the seventh to secure the league victory.
Catholic and Susquehanna go head-to-head in the final two games of the Landmark series on Saturday, March 31. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 12:30 p.m.
