WASHINGTON - Senior Brennan Cotter of The Catholic University of America baseball team has been selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Honorable Mention Hitter of the Week after his outstanding performance last week.
During a four-game week, Cotter recorded ten hits in 12 at-bats for a .833 batting average. He added 10 RBIs and five runs over during the week including five RBIs and three runs. Cotter crushed two home runs and a double in the Cardinals series-opening win over Elizabethtown College. The Oakland, N.J. native hit 3-of-3 in game two of the Landmark Conference series while batting 2-of-3 in game three.
Cotter's offensive performance continued this week after he hit 4-of-5 with four RBIs, three runs and an intentional walk in last night's game against Hood College. He sent two solo homers flying over the fence to take sole ownership of the No. 2 spot of most career homeruns (15) in Catholic Baseball's Division III era.
The Cardinals are set to travel to Scranton University for a Landmark Conference series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 14 at 12:30 p.m.
