WASHINGTON — After winning three-straight elimination games to earn the 2018 Landmark Conference Title, The Catholic University of America has made the NCAA Tournament and will face Babson College on Thursday night in the Mid-Atlantic Regional at York College (Pa.).
The Cardinals are the seventh-seeded team in the region and will take on the No. 2 Beavers at PeoplesBank Park on May 17. Game time is slated for 7:45 p.m.
Catholic makes its first trip back to the NCAA Tournament since 2015 thanks to its fifth Landmark Title. The Cardinals, led by conference championship MVP Brennan Cotter enter the field with a 31-13 record and face a 32-10 Babson squad.
Top-seeded Rowan University (33-9) will take on eighth-seeded Castleton University, third-seeded Arcadia University (30-14) faces sixth-seeded Union College (30-11), and fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan (28-14) will oppose fifth-seeded Misericordia College (31-12) in the other first round matchups
The tournament will continue through the weekend with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Appleton, Wis., over Memorial Day weekend.
