Cotter Garners All-America Honors

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America senior first baseman Brennan Cotter was selected to the All-America Third Team, as announced on Wednesday morning. Cotter put forth a sensational season to become Catholic's second-ever All-American in the Cardinals' Division III era.

The Oakland, N.J., native was one of 888 nominees for this season's All-America teams but checked in as one of just 30 positional players on the top-three teams. Cotter is the first to earn top accolades since Mike Bzozowski was an honorable mention selection in 2008.

Cotter ranked in the top-35 nationally in six NCAA statistical categories including third overall in RBI (70), 13th in doubles (20), 18th in home runs (11) and 26th in total bases (117).

He now boasts a full trophy case from this year alone as he is now an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Teamer, All-Region First Teamer, Landmark Conference Tournament MVP and Landmark Conference First Teamer.

Additionally, he set the Landmark record for most RBI in a season and Catholic all-time marks in single-season home runs and career jacks (19).
