WASHINGTON--  Frostburg State hit two home runs as part of a four-run seventh inning to defeat CUA, 12-6 in the final regular season game of 2006 for the Cardinals.

CUA (17-22-1) managed just eight hits in the game. Jorge Wynne led the Cardinals at the plate with two hits in four at-bats and two runs in his final regular season game. All six CUA seniors played in their final game. Peter Doyle (1-6) took the loss in after giving up four runs on eight hits and striking out three in 3 1/3 innings. Kevin Conley went 0-for-5 at the plate, but recorded two putouts and three assists in the field, including a 5-4-3 double play. Michael Schmidt pitched the ninth inning, striking out one and allowing no earned runs. Joe Benedetti collected one hit in five at-bats with a run scored and one RBI. Adam Spisak was 0-for-1 with two walks and recorded six putouts in the field.

Joey Maca hit his second home run in the seventh inning, a two-run shot to left field while catcher Bobby Soler hit an RBI groundout in the eighth and Patrick Quintana scored on a throwing error in the ninth. Pedro Rivera hit an RBI single in the third inning while Matt Rosner added an RBI single of his own in the fourth inning.
