CUA closes out non-league schedule on Saturday vs. Builders

WASHINGTON - CUA looks to get back into the win column on Satuday afternoon when the Cardinals close out their non-league schedule with a trip to Virginia to face Apprentice School.  CUA dropped a 51-34 decision to Randolph-Macon last week in a game that featured nearly 1,000 yards of total offense.  Alonzo Cooke pulled down a career-high 10 receptions for 165 yards, while Mike Pitsenberger notched his first 100-yard rushing game of the season.

The Builders are coming off their bye week and were last in action on October 1 when they dropped a 57-13 decision at Bridgewater.

CUA and Apprentice School are meeting for only the seventh time this weekend with the Cardinals having won five of the first six.  The school first met in 1947, a 22-7 victory for CUA.

In his last two games, Alonzo Cooke has caught 18 passes for 277 yards and three scores. Cooke's 100 receiving yards per game ranks second in the ODAC.

Mike Pitsenberger rushed for a season-best 103 yards vs. Randolph-Macon, marking the first time since October 2, 2010 he eclipsed the century mark.

The Cardinals offense has been hard to stop this year, scoring points at a frenetic pace.  Should CUA's 32.8 points per game average stand, it would be the Cardinals highest average since 1999 when they scored 40.1 per contest.
