WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America football sophomore Pearce Bartlett was recognized by the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) as the Special Teamer of the Week.
Catholic's kicker connected on two field goals in the Cardinals' first NEWMAC win. The Cards downed Coast Guard on the road, 20-14.
Bartlett connected on kicks of 21 and 27 yards. He scored the first and last points of the game as he booted the 27-yarder in the first and then forced Coast Guard to go for a touchdown late in the game with his 21-yarder with 7:15 to play.
He also added two extra points for eight points on the day and handled five kickoffs for 268 yards and a 53.6 average.
Bartlett joins senior Patrick Vidal as conference weekly award winners. Catholic boasts three NEWMAC awards this season as Vidal racked up two defensive honors.
Catholic returns home this Saturday, October 7, for a pivotal NEWMAC contest against WPI at 1 p.m.
