Adams Earns National Weekly Accolades

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America football team received its fourth selection to the National Team of the Week as junior linebacker David Adams earned his first career weekly honor.

Adams was instrumental in Catholic's 20-14 road victory at Coast Guard that gave the Cardinals their first NEWMAC victory and pushed the Cards to 3-2 on the season.

He led Catholic with nine tackles in the game and was a force behind the line of scrimmage with three tackles for loss and two sacks.

Adams was key in the fourth quarter as he added a forced fumble to his statsheet with a strip-sack with just 3:13 left to play.

He is joined by seniors Patrick Vidal and Andrew DiNardo, as well as junior Isaiah Snead as D3football Weekly National Team members this season.

Catholic returns home this Saturday, October 7, for a pivotal NEWMAC contest against WPI at 1 p.m.
