WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America football head coach Mike Gutelius has announced the 2018 schedule for the Cardinals. Catholic, coming off its first .500 season in four years, starts its second campaign under Gutelius and second season in the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on the first Saturday in September.
Catholic will face off against its same opponents from last year in both its nonconference and league games.
The season kicks off on Saturday, September 1 at home against the McDaniel Green Terror. The Cardinals then play back-to-back non-league games on the road at Utica (9/8) and Randolph-Macon (9/15).
The Cardinals start NEWMAC play on the road and cap a three-game away swing on Saturday, September 22 at MIT. The first conference home game comes the following week against Coast Guard (9/29).
The Cards then head to WPI on Saturday, October 6, before its bye week.
Catholic plays three of its final four games at Cardinal Stadium, starting with a matchup against the defending NEWMAC champs, Springfield, on October 20.
The Cardinals then travel to Norwich on October 27, before two-straight home games to end the year against Merchant Marine (11/3) and Maine Maritime (11/10).
