Campbell and Harwood named to All-South Atlantic Team

WASHINGTON – Two members of CUA's Landmark Conference champion field hockey team were named to the 2012 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-South Atlantic Team on Thursday.  Sophomores Maura Campbell and Colleen Harwood received their second consecutive All-Region honor, with Campbell being named to the First Team and Harwood to the Second Team.

Campbell totaled 7 goals, 8 assists and 22 points in 2012, when she was named a First Team All-Conference selection.  Campbell netted a pair of goals in the season opener and also tallied a goal in CUA's NCAA Tournament game vs. Lynchburg.

A native of Media, Pa., Campbell was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week on November 5, and wrapped up her sophomore year with career totals of 12 goals, 11 assists and 35 points.

Harwood followed up a terrific freshman season with another strong year for the Cardinals.  The Maryland native totaled a Landmark Conference-leading 13 assists, as well as 37 points.  Harwood scored a season-high two goals in a win over Misericordia and handed out multiple assists twice.

Harwood scored the game-winning goal in a conference victory against Susquehanna and will enter her junior year with 26 goals, 18 assists and 70 points.

This marks the 10th consecutive season in which CUA placed at least one student-athlete on the All-Region Teams, and the third straight year in which multiple Cardinals were honored.
