Cardinals ranked No. 8 in this week's NFHCA poll

WASHINGTON – After taking the nation’s No. 2 ranked team to overtime and then winning its conference opener, CUA dropped just one spot in this week’s NFCHA national poll to No. 8, announced on Tuesday.  The Cardinals are 5-2 overall and have been nationally ranked every week of the season.

CUA won its fifth game of the season over the weekend, downing conference foe Moravian 4-2 on Saturday.  The Greyhounds led 1-0 with a goal midway through the first half, before the Cardinals stormed back to score four straight, including the game-winner from Rebecca Lukaszczyk 57 seconds into the second half.

The Cardinals have outscored opponents 24-9 this season and outshot them 166-88.  Junior goalkeeper Megan Comunale is ranked 11th in America in save percentage (84.9) and 21st in goals against average (1.1).

The complete national poll can be found here.

CUA returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when the Cardinals face No. 7 Mary Washington, which is unbeaten at 8-0.
