Cardinals Shutout the Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Catholic University field hockey team shutout Juniata in a 1-0 win on Saturday.

The game was controlled by strong defensive performances for both teams. Catholic only allowed one Juniata shot in the first half. Grace Olson took the first shot of the game for the Cardinals but it was saved by the Eagles goalie. Freshman Katie Cusumano then scored her first career goal assisted by senior Hannah Schied on the Cards second shot of the game. 

The second half was scoreless for both teams. Catholic continued its impressive defensive play, only allowing three more shots to be taken by Juniata. Freshman Maysen Elliot recorded two saves for the Cardinals.

Catholic will return to the field on Tuesday, October 16 at No. 20 Ursinus College.
