Waite Named Landmark Offensive Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - Catholic University field hockey junior Jess Waite was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, marking her first career conference honor.

The Cardinals (3-4) went 1-1 last week with a 3-0 shutout at Randolph-Macon on Wednesday and a 2-1 loss to No. 12 Messiah at home on Saturday. Catholic is 3-0 against non-ranked teams this season and has won nine-straight against unranked teams dating back to Sept. 29, 2018.

Waite is the 10th different Cardinal to be named conference player of the week in four seasons under head coach Heidi Lewis.

Waite had a hand in all three goals in Catholic's 3-0 win at Randolph-Macon, totaling a career-high five points with two goals and one assist. Her two goals tied a career high.

Waite currently leads the team with five goals and 11 points this season, both career highs.

Catholic travels to Mary Washington on Tuesday to take on the Eagles. Game time is at 4 p.m.
