HAVERFORD, Pa. - Catholic University used two second-half goals from sophomore Megan Hartnett (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria) to stay undefeated by downing Haverford, 4-1, to win the inaugural Haverford Classic on Sunday. Her first tally at the 24:03 mark of the second half broke a 1-1 tie.

Senior Megan Mahoney (Gaithersburg, Md./Stone Ridge) scored her first goal of the season at 17:02 with an assist from freshman Becky Clark (Pasadena, Md./Seton Keough) but saw Haverford tie it just 44 seconds later on a tally by Mindy Walman.

After Hartnett's tie-breaking goal, teammate Sondra Pires (Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) scored her first of the season on an unassisted tally with just 13 minutes remaining.

Haverford put together a vaunted offensive attack in the late in the game but were denied by goalie Katie Iannacone (Havertown, Pa./Villa Maria). The junior made 10 saves on the day.

Hartnett would add her second goal on an assist from junior Stephanie Roselle (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) with just over 2 minutes in the contest.
