LYNCHBURG, Va. (Oct. 15, 2005) -- The CUA offense managed just five shots as Lynchburg College blanked the Cardinals, 2-0 in a heated non-conference field hockey match on Saturday at Lynchburg's Aubrey Moon Field.

Senior forward Christy Engstrom led CUA (9-3, 3-1 CAC) with two shots in the game, but the Cardinals did not get a shot past Lynchburg keeper Elizabeth Foskey. CUA keeper freshman Irene Jordan had six saves in the game, but allowed two goals, one on a penalty corner and the other a penalty stroke from Morgan Crandall. This marked the first scoreless contest for the Cardinals on the 2005 season.

CUA returns to Capital Athletic Conference play against York on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m.
