Winter Academic Honor Roll announced by conference

WASHINGTON - On Tuesday, the Landmark Conference announced its 2012 Winter Academic Honor Roll, and CUA had 44 student-athletes honored.  The honor roll recognizes winter student-athletes of sophomore standing or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.  In all, 205 student-athletes from around the conference were honored.

CUA had a strong winter season with the women's basketball team capturing its first conference championship along with its first NCAA Tournament bid.  The men's basketball team won 19 games and advanced to the ECAC championship game, while the women's track and field team claimed third at the conference indoor championship and its coaching staff was honored as Co-Coaching Staff of the Year.

In addition, Shawn Brubaker earned a spot on the men's track All-Conference Team with a second place showing in the weight throw, while the CUA swim teams finished fourth at their respective championships and placed six student-athletes on the All-Conference Team.

Below is the list of CUA student-athletes that earned Academic Honor Roll accolades.  Women's track and field led the way with 11 honorees, followed by women's basketball with 10, men's basketball, men's track and field, and women's swimming with six, and men's swimming with five.
