Cardinals maintain No. 15 ranking in top-25 poll

WASHINGTON – On the same day it moved to 8-1 with a 67-55 win over Randolph-Macon, CUA learned that it maintained its No. 15 ranking in the Top-25 poll, announced on Monday.  CUA has now won three straight as the Cardinals enter their holiday break.

CUA's offense has been very balanced during the early going, with five players averaging at least 7.1 points per game, led by Chris Kearney at 17.4.

Shawn Holmes, who hit for a season-high 27 in Monday's win, is next in line at 16.8 points per game as he closes in on 1,000 for his career (978). 

Steve Limberiou is averaging 13.3 points per game and his 17 made 3-pointers are second to Holmes' 18.

The Cardinals are holding opponents to 56.6 points, good for 12th in the nation, while boasting a +8.1 turnover margin, which is 10th best in America.

CUA is also averaging fewer than 10 turnovers per game, which ranks fourth in the country. 

The Cardinals now get to enjoy a 12-day break riding a three-game win streak.  CUA will return to action on December 29 when the Cardinals play host to Denison in the CUA-Holiday Inn College Park Classic.  Start time is set for 4 p.m.

Delaware Valley and Husson will face one another in the other opening round game with the two winners then squaring off on December 30 in the championship.
