WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's basketball team improved to 2-0 in Landmark play and 10-3 overall thanks to senior Louis Khouri's buzzer-beating layup at Juniata that put the Cardinals up for the 65-64 victory.
The Eagles went up on a 3-pointer with just 13 seconds left, but Khouri's heroics as time expired made the difference.
Khouri finished the game with 15 points with two 3-pointers and two rebounds. Junior forward Jay Howard led all scorers with 20 points and added five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The Cardinals shot 49 percent from the field and 50-percent from distance to help secure the win. They also registered nine steals.
