Cardinals even conference record with win at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. - Catholic opened the second half with a 14-2 run to extend a five-point lead to 47-30 en route to a 74-58 win at Goucher on Dec. 2. Pat Maloney (Brant Beach, N.J./Southern Regional) landed three shots from three-point range to account for nine of the 14 points during the run. He went on to finish with a game-high 27 points.

Goucher never got closer than 14 points in the final 14 minutes of the contest. Catholic shot 16-for-31 (51.6%) from the floor in the second half, 4-for-7 from three-point range.

Sophomore Matt Hilleary (Manassas, Va./Seton School) added 16 points on 8-for-16 shooting and a game-high nine rebounds for the Cardinals (4-2, 1-1 CAC)

Freshman guard Byron Chandler led the Gophers (1-6, 0-2) by tossing in 13 points. Goucher committed 22 turnovers and made a season-low two steals.

Catholic, ranked No. 6 in the nation in the most recent Top 25, will host Western Maryland at the DuFour Center on Saturday, Dec. 9.
