Catholic 75, Salisbury 64

WASHINGTON - Will Morley (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) led all scorers with 18 points and nine rebounds as the Cardinals rolled to their 20th consecutive victory, 75-64 against Salisbury in a Capital Athletic Conference men's basketball game at the DuFour Center.

The sophomore forward shot 8-for-12 from the floor to lead four Cardinals in double digits as Catholic, ranked No. 1 in the nation in the Division III coaches' poll and No. 2 by, improved to 20-1, 11-0 CAC.

Guards Kevin Wise (Newtown, Pa./Notre Dame [N.J.]) added 16 points (including 5-for-10 from 3-point range), Craig Avallone (Lincroft, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) 13 and Bobby Henning (Bricktown, N.J./East Brunswick) 11 in the victory. Henning also had a game-high six assists.

Salisbury went on a 7-0 run to take a 13-11 lead with 12:28 left in the first half, capped by a 3-pointer by senior guard Doug King. But Catholic opened up a 23-15 lead and extended it to 42-27 in the final two minutes of the first half.

The Sea Gulls (7-14, 3-8) cut the Catholic lead to six, 50-44, but the Cardinals went on a 17-6 run to open the game back up and coasted the rest of the way.

Salisbury was led by Ryan Freeman's 14 points. Jason Campion added 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Cardinals have won 36 of their last 37 games, dating back to January 2001.

Catholic is in action Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. CAC game at Marymount.
