Two Cardinals honored with weekly conference awards

WASHINGTON --- Freshman Lindsay DiRomualdo (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for November 25-December 1, 2002.

DiRomualdo, a guard, netted 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc in a loss to eighth-ranked University of Scranton on Saturday. The freshman also added a team-high nine rebounds and four assists.

On the year, the freshman has scored in double figures in her first two games at Catholic (team-high 17 points versus Arcadia last Friday). She is also averaging 4.0 assists per contest. She leads the team in FG% (11-of-18 61%) and is 8-of-12 in three-pointers and has grabbed 13 rebounds in two games.

Senior Matt Hilleary (Manassas, Va./Seton School) was named to the Honorable Mention list for his performances.

The Cardinals went 2-0 on the road last week defeating Haverford, 82-70 and University of Scranton 71-66. Hilleary had 19 points, five rebounds, three blocks and three steals in the win over Haverford, but his best game was against Scranton as the senior finished with 21 points, six rebounds, and five blocks.

The senior leads the team in ppg (22.0), and has collected 17 rebounds and blocked nine shots. His FG% of 67.5 (27-40) is also tops on the team.
