SALISBURY, MD. - William Morley, left, scored seven of his career-high 31 points in double overtime to help fourth-ranked Catholic escape with a 97-85 win at Salisbury Wednesday evening. The junior was 10-of-18 from the floor and also grabbed 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Hasheem Alexander scored 24 points and Justin Rice notched 23 points for Salisbury as the Seas Gulls overcome an 11-point deficit with just 4:51 in regulation. Rice's trey with 1:23 tied the game at 68-68. But CUA answered shortly thereafter as Craig Avallone's driving layin drew a foul and the ensuing free-throw gave the Cardinals a 73-70 lead with 32 seconds to play. The next Salisbury possession, Alexander drained one of his six three-pointers in traffic with six ticks on the clock to lock up the score at 73-73.

In the first overtime, Salisbury (5-15, 3-6 CAC) struck first as Rice sank his fifth trey of the game to break the tie. Rice would connect twice at the free-throw line to give the Sea Gulls an 82-78 lead with 59 seconds to play. But two Morley free-throws and a short jumper by Matt Hilleary tied the teams for the eighth time, sending the game into another extra period.

Alexander's three-pointer to open the second overtime gave the Sea Gulls its last lead of the game before Catholic (18-2, 9-0 CAC) went on a 13-0 run to end the game, including hitting 7-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe down the stretch to help CUA win its seventh straight game.

Hilleary (19 points, 5 blocks) and Avallone (12 points) hauled in nine boards apiece and Blair Mills added 13 points off the bench.
