WASHINGTON-- With 27 points and 13 rebounds, Jason Banzhaf (Livingston, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) led CUA to a 74-60 conference win over Moravian to move to 3-1 in the Landmark Conference and 12-3 overall.

R.J. Dixon (Charlotte, N.C./Cannon School) and Matt Fazzini (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) joined Banzhaf in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively.  Evin Yarbrough (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) added seven boards and seven points  along with four assists in 29 minutes.

Maurice Young led the way for Moravian with 17 points and four steals.

Two minutes into the game Charlie Rigoglioso made a jumper for Moravian to give them a 2-0 lead.  Only 31 seconds later Banzhaf opened the CUA scoring and the Cardinals never looked back. 

Over the first 8:31 CUA outscored the visitors 18-2 and set the tone for the evening.  Over the remainder of the first half, Moravian cut the lead to as few as six but R.J. Dixon responded only eight seconds later with a triple to give the Cardinals a 34-25 lead heading to the locker room.

CUA played with poise throughout the second half, taking only three three point shots and converting two of them.  The Cardinals took 23 second half foul shots and converted 16 of them. 

The visitors climbed to within seven on several occations in the second half, but the Cardinals responded each time opening back up their lead.  CUA won nearly every statistical battle, topping Moravian 30-18 in the paint, and grabbing 17 second chance points on only 11 offensive rebounds to the visitors 11 on 17 offensive rebounds.  The biggest advantage was points from the bench, where CUA outscored their opponent 31-20.

CUA will return to action tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. when the Cardinals host the Royals of Scranton University.
