For the fourth time in four games, a different Cardinal has led CUA (2-2) in scoring, Cody Otto led tonight as the Cards defeated Gettysburg (0-2), 69-48 in the consolation game of the Gettysburg-Days Inn Tournament.

Jason Banzhaf added 17 for CUA while Chris Kearney tallied 11 points with seven of them coming from the free throw line. R.J. Dixon added six helpers while Otto had seven steals.

Andrew Powers was the offensive leader for the hosts scoring 20 and adding nine rebounds.

After falling behind on two free throws less than two minutes into the contest, Kearney evened the game on a layup with Banzhaf following with one of his own. From that point on the Cardinals had the lead and only allowed Gettysburg within a point once.  With 12:11 on the clock Andrew Powers made a layup for the hosts but that basket sparked a 21-5 run that gave the Cards a 32-15 lead with 5:08 to go.  At the break CUA led 37-20.

In the second half the Cardinals continued their dominance, breaking out to a 24-point lead with 6:45 remaining and coasting to the finish settling with a 21-point advantage.

CUA was out rebounded in the contest 27-24, but held a 10-8 advantage on the offensive boards. With 16 steals and 13 assists the Cards relied on speed and power.  The Cardinals shot 44.9% from the field converting nine three pointers.  Matt Fazzini and Otto each had three triples. Fazzini was named to the all-tournament team for his contributions to the Cardinal offense as he led CUA in the opener with 14 points and added nine more tonight.

CUA will return to action on Nov. 24 as the Cardinals will welcome Haverford to the DuFour Center.  Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
