Hickey, Holak Sweep Landmark Player of the Week Awards

Full Landmark Release

WASHINGTON - Walter Hickey and Harrison Holak led Catholic to a sweep of the Landmark Conference Player of the Week awards for their performances in Saturday's 19-7 win over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Hickey was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week after recording a game-high six points on four goals and two assists. His back-to-back goals in the second quarter helped blow open the game as Catholic moved into a tie for third place in the Landmark. The Thornwood, N.Y., native is the team's leading scorer with 21 goals thus far.

Holak was named the Defensive Player of the Week after turning away 13 shots against USMMA. The sophomore helped stymie the Mariner's offense, allowing just one goal in nearly 35 minutes of play as the Cardinals turned a 3-2 deficit into a 14-4 lead. Holak also scooped up two groundballs. His 8.14 goals against average is second in the conference, while his .652 save percentage ranks first among goalies with more than five appearances.

This marks the second time this season that CUA has swept the weekly awards, as Tony Fisher and Dan McCallan won the first awards of the season on February 17.
