Bethlehem, Pa. — The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team was topped at Moravian on Saturday afternoon as the Greyhounds won with a buzzer-beating goal, scoring with 6.5 seconds left to take the victory, 5-4.
In a close game, the Cards led by a goal at the half, 3-2. Moravian knotted it up with less than three minutes to play in the third but Catholic came back with a go-ahead goal by senior Daniel Cannon off the feed from sophomore Brendan Leniw.
It was all Greyhounds from there however as they scored with 1:44 left to tie it up prior to the gamewinner in the final seconds.
Moravian goalie Kurt Dick came up with 15 saves to help keep the Catholic in check as the Cards outshot Moravian, 36-23.
Catholic is now set for its season-finale and senior day next Saturday, April 28, against Elizabethtown at 1 p.m.
