TOWSON, Md. - Catholic University men's lacrosse junior Vince Catenacci was named Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Cardinals to a come-from-behind, overtime victory against Moravian on Saturday.
It marks the first career honor for Catenacci who spent his first two years at the University of Tampa. He is the first Cardinal to receive conference player of the week honors this season. Patrick Silverman and Bennett Bradley combined for four offensive player of the week selections a year ago while Mike Robertello was named defensive player of the week on March 26, 2018.
Catenacci scored his second goal of the game with 1:53 remaining in overtime to cap a huge comeback for the Cardinals. Catholic trailed the Greyhounds by as many as six in the second quarter before an 8-1 run gave the Cards a 12-10 fourth-quarter lead.
Catenacci leads the team with 23 goals and 28 points this season while netting four game-winning tallies.
Catholic, who is one of two remaining Landmark Conference unbeatens, travels to Drew next Saturday, April 6 for a 1 p.m., faceoff with the Rangers.
