WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University men's lacrosse team will travel to Radnor, Pa., this weekend to participate in the annual HEADstrong DIII Classic hosted by defending national champion Cabrini on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The Cardinals are one of three teams participating along with Cabrini and Farleigh Dickinson. Catholic will face Cabrini at 3 p.m., followed by FDU at 5 p.m. There will be a presentation by HEADstrong at 6:30 p.m., before Cabrini takes on FDU.
"We have been asked to raise funds for the HEADstrong Foundation, a terrific cause supporting families who are undergoing cancer treatment," said head coach Brooks Singer. The DIII Classic is one of four men's lacrosse events sponsored by HEADstrong this fall which allows the organization to further spread its mission both on and off the field.
The first event was The Nick Colleluori Classic hosted by Hofstra on Saturday, Oct. 5 featuring Lehigh, Navy and Marist. The University City Classic took place at Penn on Saturday, Oct. 12 and featured Albany, Army, John Hopkins and Penn.
The final event is the Nick Colleluori Classic at Lafayette College on Sunday, Oct. 20. In addition to Lafayette, St. Johns and Drexel will also be participating.
