TOWSON, Md. - Catholic University men's soccer forward Ben Alexander had two goals, an assist, and played his part in two important conference victories this past week, earning him Landmark Athlete of the Week honors.
The sophomore's efforts have been key in the Cardinals' current five-game win streak. Alexander now leads the team with five goals on the season.
In midweek action, the Bel Air, Md. native scored the match's only goal in a 1-0 win over Goucher College. On Saturday, Alexander assisted Brian Galfond's opening goal against Moravian, and then buried a penalty kick chance for the second goal of the game.
The two conference wins have clinched a spot in the Landmark Conference playoffs for Coach Travis Beauchamp's men.
The Cardinals return to the pitch tomorrow Tuesday, October 23 for a 7 p.m. match on the road against Gettysburg.
