WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University men's swimming & diving team earned its third conference meet victory in a comfortable win over Goucher on Saturday afternoon, 212-37.
The Cardinals took an advantage right away, nabbing the top three spots in the 200-medley relay. Jeffrey Schriefer-Flores (26.46), George Isaacs (28.30), Daniel Taylor (24.49), and Kyle Kreuscher (23.11) finished first in the opening event.
More of the same followed for the hosts, who now sit at 4-1 overall and 3-0 in Landmark competition. Catholic swept the top three places in eight of fourteen events.
Taylor added a couple more event wins in the 100-backstroke (57:19) and 200-breaststroke (2:19.36). He was not the only swimmer to take first in multiple events, as Kreuscher finished at the top in the 100-breaststroke (1:07.43). Schriefer-Flores followed with wins in the 50-freestyle sprint (22.70) and the 100-backstroke (49.98) as well.
Senior David Lanetti dominated the butterfly events, taking first in the 200 (2:09.87) and 100 (56:34). Hicks ended his afternoon with as a triple-winner after finishing first in the 500-freestyle (5:05.02) and in the 200-freestyle relay with a 23.22 split.
With its conference meets wrapped up, the team will now prepare for the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Ashland, Va. on November 30 and December 1.
