CUA opens spring break with 7-2 win over Alvernia

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – CUA opened its spring season with a 7-2 win over Alvernia (3-3) on Sunday evening. Brian Bradley, Kyle Kramer, Schuyler Hayward, Joe Peters and Jason Quisberth picked up singles wins, and the Cardinals (4-2) won two of three doubles matches.

Bradley got things rolling with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Nathan Bauer at the 1st singles flight, before Alvernia's Daniel Minnich won the 2nd singles point by default.

Kramer downed William Gerber 6-4, 6-1 at the 3rd flight and Hayward earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Aaron Yuros at 4th singles.

At the 5th flight, Peters defeated Jacob Conapitski 6-0, 6-0, while Quisberth closed singles play out with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Kyle Clark.

In doubles play, Bradley and Quisberth defeated Gerber and Yuros 8-2 at the 2nd flight, while Peters and Kramer downed Conapitski and Clark 8-0 at 3rd doubles.

Cassian Utrie and Hayward were upended 8-6 by Bauer and Minnich at 1st doubles.

On Monday, CUA faces Malone at 8:30 a.m.
