HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Catholic University men's tennis team split four matches in Hilton Head, S.C. over the break.  In the first contest, the Cardinals fell 8-1 to Augustana.  CUA lost all six singles matches, three in straight sets.  Catholic University's only victory over Augustana came when the doubles pairing of John Dillon (River Forest, Ill.) and Andrew Malone (Bethesda, Md.) defeated Augustana's pair of Dave Gapp and Chris Mullin, 8-4.

CUA fared only marginally better against York, losing 7-2.  This time, it was the doubles teams which struggled, as all three Cardinals pairings lost.  Dillon contributed a victory in the singles as York's Ryan Fickes retired trailing 5-4 in the first set.  Jonathan Lewis (Overland Park, Ks.) picked up the second win, 6-3, 6-2.

The Cardinals turned things around against Adrian, winning all but one match.  All six CUA singles players won, and Adrian's only victory was an 8-6 defeat of Dillon and Malone in doubles matchplay.

Against Cabrini, CUA pulled out a 6-3 final.  Malone, Andrew Kracht (Sellersville, Pa.) and Nikolai Wajda (Springfield, Va.) took singles victories and all three of Catholic University's doubles teams won their matches as well.
