Landmark Conference announces preseason poll

WASHINGTON – The CUA men’s tennis team has been voted fourth in this year’s Landmark Conference preseason poll, released on Monday.  The Cardinals received 52 points in the poll, which is voted upon by head coaches and sports information directors at each of the conference institutions that sponsor men’s tennis.

Three-time defending league champion Drew tops the poll with 83 points, while Scranton was next in line with 68 points.  Coming in third was Moravian with 62 points, followed by CUA with 52.

Rounding out the poll were Juniata (45), Susquehanna (44), Goucher (24), and Merchant Marine Academy (14).

The Cardinals posted a 3-2 record during the fall season, which included wins over Hood, McDaniel and St. Mary’s.

CUA is currently in South Carolina for its annual spring break trip.  The Cardinals take on Marian (Ind.) on Monday in a 12:30 p.m. match and will play three matches in all while down south.
