Landmark Conference announces men's indoor track poll

WASHINGTON – The Landmark Conference announced its men’s indoor track and field preseason poll on Wednesday and the Cardinals tied for fifth with Goucher, with 17 points.  CUA opens its indoor season this weekend.

Defending conference champion Moravian was selected atop the poll with 47 points, followed by Susquehanna with 39 points and Merchant Marine Academy with 30. 

Rounding things out were Juniata with 24 points and CUA and Goucher with 17 apiece.

The Cardinals placed sixth at last year’s indoor championship with Shawn Brubaker posting a second place finish in the weight throw.  The 4 x 200 meter relay team also had a strong day, placing fourth in its event.

CUA gets its season started on Saturday when the Cardinals travel to Pennsylvania for the Bow-Tie Classic at Ursinus College.  Start time is set for 9 a.m.
