Cardinals compete at YCP Green and White Invite

YORK, Pa. – Kiernan Powell won the javelin on Saturday to lead CUA at the YCP Green and White Invite. Joe Quigley added a 4th place finish in the 800 meters for the Cardinals, who finished 4th in the team standings.

Powell earned CUA 10 points by virtue of his first place finish in the javelin. The sophomore's throw of 49.10 meters was tops among 15 competitors.

Quigley took 4th in the 800 meters, finishing in 1:59.66, with John Brewer (2:01.78), Robert Leeson (2:02.16) and Jacob Maclin (2:03.82) placing 7th, 8th, and 9th, respectively.

In the 5000, Kian Olia placed 6th, finishing in 17:44.71, while Nick Pavia came in 10th place in the 400 hurdles (1:07.21).

The 4 x 400 meter relay team finished 5th in a time of 3:32.26

In the hammer throw, Shawn Brubaker took 3rd with a throw of 42.02 meters, and he also placed 10th in the discus (32.40).

Lebanon Valley took 1st in the team standings with 145 points, followed by Dickinson with 129, Howard Community College (105), York (104), and Montgomery College (59).

CUA travels to Messiah College on April 13 for its next meet. Start time is set for 9 a.m.
