WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's track & field team began its 2017-18 indoor schedule on Saturday at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational with speed and distance in numerous events.
Junior Derek Chapey kicked things off with a top-10 finish in the 400-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in 53.42 seconds.
Sophomore Cosmo Pirozzi had one of the best runs of the day for Catholic as he placed second in the mile with a time of 4:35.57.
Rookie Mike Dreitlein added to the top-10 finishes with a time of 9.48 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
Catholic will now take a break for finals and the holiday season before resuming its schedule in 2018 at the Christopher Newport Captains Invite on Saturday, January 20.
