WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America men's track & field team competed on Super Bowl Sunday at the Christopher Newport University Vince Brown Invitational and posted several strong marks, led by a win from junior Chadd Ziegler.
Ziegler cleared 4.25 meters, the second-highest mark in the Landmark Conference this season in the pole vault to take home the victory. Just behind was teammate and sophomore Dillon Frawley who took third at 4.10 meters.
Senior Brian Seward added a top-10 finish in the 200-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in 23.66 seconds. He also finished 16th in the 60 at 7.27 seconds.
Senior Dustin Vanella was strong in the weight throw as he registered a distance of 12.46 meters to finish fifth overall.
The Cardinals are now set for a Landmark Conference tuneup as they compete at the Susquehanna Open on Friday, February 16, prior to the Landmark Championships at the same site the following weekend.
