WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America men's track & field senior Brian Seward was recognized by the Landmark Conference on Monday afternoon as he was selected the league's Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Catholic won its 2018 outdoor opener at Mary Washington on Saturday, the first team victory of head coach Ian Hankins' career with the Cardinals.
Seward led the way with victories in the 400 (51.35) and as part of the 4x400 relay. He also added a second-place finish in the 200 at 23.08. Seward anchored the relay team and was joined by juniors Peter Binck and Derek Chapey, as well as sophomore Cosmo Pirozzi with a time of 3:33.09.
Catholic returns to action next weekend when they travel to Towson, Md., for the Goucher Classic on Saturday, March 24.
