Catholic Takes on DI Competition at Navy

Annapolis, Md. — The Catholic University of America men's track & field team traveled to Division I Navy the day before Easter to test its speed against top competition at the U.S. Naval Academy's Spring Invitational.

Senior Brian Seward led the way with a podium finish in the 400-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in 51.22, good for sixth overall.

He followed it up with a 12th-place finish in the 400 at 22.66 seconds.

Sophomore Cosmo Pirozzi competed in the 700 and finished in eighth place with a time of 1:58.75.

Senior Patrick Jones was in action for the 1,500 and posted a time of 4:12.46 which slotted him 14th.

Next up, the Cardinals will compete at the Johns Hopkins Invitational on Friday, April 6.
