Beckett Rookie of the Year, Five Cardinals Earn All-Conference

TOWSON, Md. – The Catholic University men's track and field team was recognized for their accomplishments this season as the Cardinals earned one major Landmark Conference award and five All-Conference selections.

Sophomore CeeJa Beckett was named the Landmark Conference Male Rookie of the Year, an honor that no other Cardinal has received. The Fredericksburg, Va. native earned an All-Landmark First Team selection after winning the men's long jump with a record-breaking gold medal finish. The rookie jumped an impressive 7.06m to break a 52-year-old school record. He then proceeded to jump 1.68m to finish fourth in the men's high jump.

The men's 4x400 team of freshman Patrick Maxwell, senior Peter Binck, junior Joseph LaPointe, and junior Cosmo Pirozzi all earned First Team honors after winning gold with a time of 3:26.03.

Next up for the Cardinals is an NCAA-qualifying meet at Swarthmore on Monday, May 13 at 3:30 p.m.
