Men's Track & Field Competes at Navy
Marks the first meet of the season


ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Catholic University men's track & field team competed in Annapolis, Md. at the Naval Academy Open Meet on Wednesday. The Cardinals faced all D-I squads including Virginia Commonwealth University, Delaware State University, American University, Coppin State University and the host team Naval Academy.

CUA ran in two relays, the Distance Medley and 3,200 meter race. In the DMR the Cards finished fifth with a time of 11:25.72 and in the 3,200 the Cardinals finished fourth running a 8:43.89.

In the field, the meet marked the first for Andrew Kopeck (Germantown, Wis.) a heavily recruited pole-vaulter. Kopeck made 13 feet which gave him seventh place in the pole vault.

The men's track & field team will break for the holidays and be back in action in one of its local meets of the season at the University of Maryland Invitational at the Prince Georges Sports Complex in Landover, Md. on January 19, 2008.
