Cardinals compete at Lebanon Valley Invitational

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The CUA men's track and field team continued its season on Saturday at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.   There were several impressive performances by the Cardinals, including Sean Brubaker in the weight throw and the 4x400 relay team, which both posted second place finishes.

On the track side of things, George Brewer finished third in the mile as he crossed in a time of 4:53.84, while Mike Puskar was fifth in that event, finishing in 4:57.07.  Brewer later finished seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:14.54

The 4x200 relay team of Joe Quigley, Cameron Green, Joe Funk and Matt Zemba came in third with a time of 1:40.68 and the 4x400 relay team of Michael Kennedy, Green, Funk and Quigley finished second, crossing in 3:49.51.

Zemba also finished third in the 300, with a time of 38.55 seconds, while Quigley crossed in 1:14.00 in the 500 to place third.  Michael Kennedy crossed in 1:16.13 to take fifth in the 500 and Chris Derks was ninth (1:16.78).

In the field events, Sean Brubaker recorded a toss of 41'3" to place second in the weight throw, while Joe Quigley (20'2 ½") and Kyle Noell (19'6 ¼") went five-six, respectively, in the long jump, and Noell also finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 38'6 ¾".

CUA will return to action next weekend when the Cardinals compete in the Frank Colden Invite on the campus of Ursinus.  Action on February 5 begins at 9 a.m.
