Catholic Cross Country Fifth at Landmark Championship

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America men's cross country team finished fifth overall at the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships at the Standing Stone Golf Club. The Cardinals got top-25 performances from junior Kevin Kuchler and sophomore Cosmo Pirozzi.

Kuchler led the way with a top-20 finish as he placed 18th overall with a time 29:09.85.

Sophomore Joseph LaPointe gave Catholic three runners to crack the 30-minute mark in the 8K as he finished in 29:58.66, good for 31st.

The Cardinals' top-five was rounded out by senior Patrick Jones (40th, 30:42.79) and rookie Vincent Pham (51st, 31:19.82).

Pirozzi was just over a half minute behind and took 24th in the 72-man field. He crossed the finish line in 29:40.70.
