MT. BERRY, Ga. - The Catholic University Men's Cross Country team finished with a total time of 2:26:41.21 at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship to close out their season on Saturday.
The Cards were led by rookie Cornelius Deep with a time of 27:39.21. Junior Cosmo Pirozzi was the next Cardinal to finish, with a time of 28:45.01. Freshman Owen Downing was the third Card to cross the finish line at 29:28.10.
"The men's team has a great race today." Said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Steve Rahn, "It was their best team finish since 2015. Cornelius ran well with the best individual finish since 2007. Our men did a wonderful job this year with the leadership of Cosmo and Joey. Newcomer Cornelius and freshman Owen, Paul, and Joe all did a great job adjusting to the college training and the increase in race distance. I'm very proud of how they performed this year. The future is very bright as all of the men competing at Regionals will return next year."
