Catholic Softball Opens Season February 24

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America softball head coach Bruce McConkey has announced the 2018 slate for the Cardinals who open the season on February 24 with a doubleheader at Gallaudet.

Catholic then heads to Clearmont, Fla., for the annual PFX Spring Games in early March before playing its home and Landmark Conference-opening doubleheader against Moravian on Saturday, March 17.

The PFX Games Start on Sunday, March 4 and last all week with Catholic playing single games against Penn State Brandywine, Rosemont, Emmanuel, Morrisville State, Bridgewater State, Concordia, Wartburg, Alvernia, Rensselaer and Roger Williams.

In addition to Gallaudet, the Cards play road, nonconference doubleheaders at Frostburg State (3/14), Cabrini (3/18), Stevenson (4/3), Washington College (4/11) and Hood (4/29).

Home, non-league doubleheaders include Rutgers-Camden (3/29), Staten Island (4/15) and Salisbury (4/17).

Catholic gets another home Landmark doubleheader in March when the Cardinals welcome Susquehanna on 31st. The Cards will also host Scranton on April 14. Road conference two-game sets include Drew (3/24), Elizabethtown (4/7) and Juniata (4/21).

The Landmark Conference Championship Tournament is set for Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th and the site of the regular-season champion.
