WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America softball freshman Makayla Czan put up an impressive rookie campaign that has now earned her National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Atlantic-Region Third Team honors.
The centerfielder batted over .400 in her first season as she finished the year with a .417 batting average. The leadoff hitter led the Cardinals in nearly every statistical category.
The All-Landmark Frist Teamer had 50 hits on the season and was fourth in the league with six home runs. Additionally, she posted 26 RBI, 29 runs and 16 walks as she boasted a .480 on-base and .500 slugging percentages.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions.
